In addition to long-term skilled nursing care, Our Lady of Mercy offers:

• A special rehab section for patients undergoing short-term rehabilitation following a hospital stay. We help you recover and get back home. Our outcomes–the results we achieve for patients–regularly exceed state benchmarks.
• A special memory care section for people with dementia who have special needs beyond what the regular nursing home resident requires. We provid an extra safe, secure area with staff who understand the unique needs of dementia patients.

We are one of the only nursing homes anywhere in the country that has two special technologies:

• An artificial sky that effectively brings in the outdoors. It functions much like the real thing, offering all the benefits of light seen on a beautiful day, which has a calming ,healthy effect and helps reset our body’s circadian rhythm. 
• Special high-tech cushioned flooring that helps reduce the impact of injuries sustained from falls, since seniors are at an especially high risk for injuries   

Unlike other nursing centers where physicians see residents just once a week, our nursing units offer physician coverage nearly seven days a week. Plus we have a special collaboration with the Albany College of Pharmacy focused on helping us provide our residents with expert medication management.
